14 tristar

DOB: 06.02.06

Sire: Heathbrow Mischief (Slievenagh Fantastic x Heathbrow July)

Dam: AWL Starlet 8E (P) (Imp) (Harkaway Mr Star 38Z (Imp) x Miss Accelerator 346B (Imp)

Tristar was purchased privately in July 2007 at 17 months of age from David and Lesley Sapsed as a result of being so impressed with him at the Royal Show that year. He is admired greatly by all who see him and is regularly described as the modern Simmental.

He has always been a naturally fleshed bull with great length, confirmation and excellent locomotion. Tristar is an easy calving, consistent male and female producer, his progeny have the same stamp as he does and no matter what dam he breeds with calves are often similar in growth rate and confirmation.

He has been shown successfully in 2011 as a senior bull with the following results:

  • Newark and Notts – 1st senior bull, male, breed and reserve interbreed champion
  • Herts County – 1st senior bull, male, breed and reserve interbreed champion
  • South of England – 1st senior bull, male and breed champion
  • Three Counties Show – 1st senior bull, male champion, reserve breed champion, Continental Pairs champion and interbreed pairs champion
  • Royal Norfolk – 1st senior bull, male and breed champion, Continental interbreed and overall interbreed champion, interbreed pairs champion and reserve interbreed group of three champion
  • Kent – 1st senior bull, breed champion, interbreed beef and reserve overall supreme

14 diehard

Purchased privately in 2013 Clonagh Diehard Gallant is a December 2012-born son of Dovefields Gallant, bred by Garrett and Lyndsey Behan, Portlaoise, Co Laois.

Diehard is out of one of the herd's top donor cows Clonagh Edel by Hillcrest Butcher who has seven daughters retained in the herd including four full sisters to Diehard.

This is the first ET-bred bull to be born from this cross and semen has been retained for private use. He has been purchased for his depth of pedigree, colour and stature and he has great legs and bone which will no doubt compliment our Heathbrow Tristar daughters.

14 tiger

Tiger Gallant has been used with great success in the herd. A follower of Irish genetics, he has been used for his ease of calving, as well as his natural muscle and to date he’s clicked very well with Tristar daughters. We’re hoping the addition of the new Clonagh sire will compliment this mix even further.

14 playboy

This polled son of Corrick Kentucky Kid has worked well on Tristar daughters and bred the majority of the 2013 show team, including the South East Simmental Group Simmental of the Year, Williams Draco.
